CTC Yorkshire Councillor Arthur Spurr has recently begun Bikeability tutoring in schools. This replaces the old Cycling Proficiency Test, The agency Arthur works with is Services2Sport, or "S2S", which is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) based in Grimsby but working within a number of local authorities in the region. The pay isn't glamorous but working with the kids is rewarding. S2S have recently negotiated work in North Yorkshire and are looking to recruit potential tutors. Full training will be given and after a probationary period tutors will become registered Bikeability Trainers/Tutors. They must also pass a CRB check plus undertake some short evening courses on first aid, equalities and child protection. This training takes around four days.
